Creating Your Future!

Galatians #18

Galatians 6:7-10

1. The Law of sowing and reaping governs life.

2 Corinthians 9:6
2 Corinthians 9:10
Luke 6:38
Genesis 8:22

God has given us the capacity to create our future.  Seeds of today create the harvest of tomorrow.  If we want tomatoes in our future – we plant tomato seeds.  We can’t plant tomatoes and wish for cucumbers!

Sow love – reap love.  Sow friendship – reap friendship.  Sow into your health – reap great health!  Sow finances – reap finances.

This is an unerring law of life.  There may be storms or freezes that interrupt harvest on occasion – but over the long run of life, year after year, this law is constant.

2. Our standard of living is always affected by our standard of giving.

By your measure of giving it comes back to you.  You can raise your standard of living by raising your standard of giving.

It’s give then get!  (Not get then give.)

3. God places Himself responsible for the law of sowing and reaping.

He is a god of divine order and principle.  The law of sowing and reaping is just as reliable as the law of gravity and the law of electricity:  if we learn the law and submit to it – it will work for our good.

4. Sow to your spirit in order to live abundantly.

The law of sowing and reaping works positively and negatively.  Everything I watch, listen to, and expose myself to, every action I take and don’t take, every place I go and don’t go – I’m either sowing to my flesh or my spirit.

In the battle between my spirit and my flesh, whoever I’ve been feeding will win!  Feed your spirit – starve your flesh.

5. Seize Your Sowing Opportunities.

You wouldn’t plant roses today – it’s not the opportune season.

Your kids are only small for a season – don’t miss this opportunity to plant good seed.  Anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas – these are opportune times to sow into people you love.

6. You have an appointed season of reaping.

“In due time” means “in one’s own distinct time.”  God has appointed a distinct time for your harvest.  Don’t be distracted by others reaping their harvest.  Rejoice in their harvest!  Know that God has appointed your day!
