Larger than Life! #1

2 Corinthians 6:11-13

I can’t think of a better set of values to revisit and reaffirm on our church's 19th Anniversary than the idea of living large!

Of the 12 core values that make up the DNA of our church,   today we’re looking at two of them:

- Generosity fueled by an abundance mentality
– Reaching beyond ourselves

Living larger than life is about expanding your world - so that your world is not just about self maintenance.

Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you   - Jim Rohn

There is no passion to be found playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.   – Nelson Mandela

We’ve lasted 19 years as a church!  But I don’t want to just last.  I want to thrive, grow, expand, increase – because God great, God is good, because there is a cause!

I want us to dream big, live big, give big, serve big, love big!

Isaiah 54:1-3

No matter what your past has been – get something new in your spirit, in your outlook.  Determine to be big enough to make a difference for others.

Acts 20:35

Generosity is about being a giver in life rather than a taker, being a channel rather than a pool - generous in gesture, generous in giving, generous in relationship.

Really big people are, above everything else, courteous, considerate and generous – not just to some people in some circumstances – but to everyone all the time.   – Thomas Watson, Founder of IBM.

Proverbs 11:24-25

There is one who scatters, who is free, liberated in spirit – not stingy and holding on – but releasing.

Generosity brings increase into your life.  It doesn’t take away from your life – it enlarges your life.

Giving doesn’t decrease you - giving is an investment into your future.

A poverty spirit holds on tightly to what it has.  A generous man is prosperous.  A prosperous spirit realizes there is always more - that's why i can give what I have!
