The Wizard of Oz is a movie about dreaming. Dorothy dreams of a world beyond Kansas, then she dreams of returning home. The Lion dreams of courage; the Tin Man dreams of a heart; the Scarecrow dreams of a brain.
They all end up realizing they have more than they think.
Today I want to focus on the impact that our thinking - our brain - can have on our dreams.
The fulfillment of your dreams is directly impacted by the quality of your thinking!
We have to consider: How we've been thinking may be wrong.
How has your way of thinking been working out?
You can transform your life by renewing your mind.
There are some people who get saved, who are going to heaven, who are nice people - but things don't change for them.
They struggle financially, they have the same relational challenges, they have unresolved authority issues, they live their whole life under condemnation.
God covers us with His righteousness; when He sees us He sees Jesus. However, God doesn't want to stop there. He wants to get His righteousness inside of us.
Sometimes you need to spear some negative thoughts.
To Repent literally means to change your mind.
There is no growth in life without change.
Six Ideas on How We Can Choose to Think:
1. Think Biblically
God's way of thinking is better than our way of thinking! Higher thoughts lead to higher ways. Higher ways lead to a higher life.
The Bible is authoritative. It is the Word of God and it is full of truth.
When you think one way and the Bible tells you something else - you are the one that's wrong, not the Bible.
It's time to change your mind.
2. Think Positively
Weeds grow naturally - Flowers are on purpose.
I am positive person - but have to fight negativity constantly. I have to get up out of bed every morning and start taking thoughts captive.
Dwell on this: God is for you and you are blessed!
3. Think Abundance
Get the idea that God has more than enough. He is a river! Will you stop the flow of abundance that God wants to flow through you?
Abundance opens the door to generosity. Re-frame your thinking from scarcity to abundance. See the opportunity and not the problem.
4. Think Connections
It takes a team to fulfill a dream. You only succeed because other people want you to. Part of my success is found in you - Part of your success is found in me.
People are doors to opportunity - so learn how to connect!
5. Think Creatively
"Problems cannot be solved on the same level of thinking that created them"
- Albert Einstein
God is creative. He created because that's who He is! It's His nature.
Start thinking with the right side of the brain. Get a new thought on something! See it differently.
6. Think Expectantly
What you believe - what you expect - is what you become.
All kinds of possibilities open up to believers. Expect favor and blessing. Expect all things to work out for your good. God is for you!
