If you’ve been in our church for a while, you know we are committed to helping you live your best life in God. We want to help you have a great marriage, prosper in your finances and see your business and relationships succeed. We want to see you live a life full of joy and prosperity…

We’re committed to making a Asheville a better place and serving our community in practical ways. We have Big Serve days, Christmas for Kids, serve in local women’s shelters, contribute to Manna Food Bank, host Red Cross blood drives…

But we have to be aware of missing a very important idea: Everyone in our community – Everyone we know – Every member of our family - Everyone in our world – Everyone will spend an eternity in Heaven or in hell.

Hebrews 9:27

Eventually we all are going to die, and the reality is this:  We all will face judgment.  It’s a huge mistake if we spend our time helping people succeed in marriage, in life – but overlook this eternal issue.

If everybody in Asheville is going to spend an eternity Heaven or Hell – does it matter to you?

Mark 8:36

I’m for people being blessed financially and being successful. However what does it profit a man to be well off in life if it costs him his soul?

It’s possible for us to get so deep or so practical that we end up bypassing a hugely important truth.

When I first got saved my neighbor friend tragically died. Fifteen years old and he was dead. I had just been saved and I was devastated because I didn’t know if that boy would spend an eternity in hell. It was a day of reality for me.

Luke 12:15 -21

There will come a day when every person’s soul will be required of them. We will each stand before God and be held accountable for our life.

God said, “I sent my Son to die for you - to pay the price for all the sin you committed.  Whatever choice you have made concerning that truth will determine where you will spend eternity.”

This passage in Luke speaks to two groups: People who are right with God and people who are not right with God.

Life is not just about the accumulation of more stuff. Life is not about a way to make it easy. It would be a tragedy if we taught you how to prosper and we didn’t teach you why.

I want you blessed. Our church wants you blessed. God wants you blessed.

But if we don’t spend our blessing on what matters for eternity – we’re missing the whole point.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

God’s desire for Asheville is that everybody would be saved.  I want that to matter to you as much as it matters to God.

Luke 19:10

We are here to align our hearts and our lives with the heart of God. He sets the agenda, not us. What God desires – We desire.

I love my church family, but I am done with trying to please church people who just want more hot water added to their bath – when some people have never even had a chance to take a bath!

There is a grand and awesome purpose for our church. To lead people to Christ - to rescue them from an eternity in hell! To bring God into their world!

2 Corinthians 5:17 - 21

The ministry of reconciling people to God has been given to us who are reconciled to God.  Once you get right with God, one of your main job assignments on the planet is to help other people get right with God!

We are the only ones on this planet entrusted with this cause!

Matthew 9:35 - 38

It’s easy to see that people are lost. The harvest is plentiful!

I’m asking you to consider: Next. Who’s the Next person God will use us to rescue? Who is the Next person who will get saved?

I have been involved in all kinds of ministry: Bringing people to church and having them touched by God is the best method I know of to lead people to Christ.

Will you rise up: Pray – Serve – Give – Help?

My next door neighbor paid the price to pray for me. She saw me smoking pot in my driveway at midnight when I was just a teenager.  She told me later, she fell on her knees and she prayed for me – and God spoke to her heart and said, “I’m going to use him”.

I was just a stupid teenage boy. But somebody cared about “Who’s Next”.

Eternity calls to all of us today. Who Is Next?
