I Love My Church (So I Invite)
I love My Church: Invitation
John 3:17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
The heart of God is to win a world that he loves back to a relationship with him. All other "religions" are man seeking God. Christianity is God seeking man.
God wanted us back so much He sent Jesus to get us. He took initiative to rescue us.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Our job as Christians is to introduce others to Jesus. If our church somehow forgets that our main job is to reach people who do not know the love of Christ, we have lost our way.
The most effective way to win and disciple people is to invite them to church.
Here are seven practical keys to engage in inviting people to church.
1. Look at your work, school or neighborhood as your "church"
You have a world, a "traffic pattern," that puts you in touch with a whole network of people.
The most effective method of evangelism is people talking to people they know.
2. Let love cast out fear
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.
Let's be honest and face it; the fear of man is often our greatest hindrance. You can be friendly and natural and let God be supernatural. Be loving and opportunities will arise.
3. When your joy is full, your mouth will be, too
Nehemiah 8:10 The joy of the LORD is your strength
Your joy is your strength, don't let the devil steal it. Enthusiasm attracts others!
4. Look for and seize daily opportunities
5. Realize Jesus is the Lord of the harvest
Matthew 9:38 Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest
It's HIS harvest and we are a tool in His hand to reap that harvest. Partner with the Holy Spirit and listen to His voice.
6. Look for triggers
There are three triggers to invite someone to church:
“I’m not in church.” Great, come to my church, it’s awesome.
“Things aren’t going well.” I know somewhere you can receive encouragement.
“I wasn’t ready for this.” The people at my church will pray for you and help you through your problem.
7. Prayer is the deciding factor
You don't win men by winning the argument. You can win the argument and lose the soul.
2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
The blinders must be removed for the lost to be able to see. The real battle for souls is in the prayer closet. Prayer releases them to respond. So, pray for boldness. Also, pray for divine appointments and for God to open doors.
Your invitation could be the deciding factor in someone’s eternity! Invite someone to church today!
