Joy #21 - How Peace Wins Over Worry
Seven Key Understandings for Peace to Win over Worry
1. Have a yielded heart
A forbearing spirit is a yielding spirit - not insistent on its own way. The opposite of forbearing is contentious. A contentious spirit will rob you of your joy and your peace. A forbearing spirit is essential for learning to run your life from your prayer closet.
If you fast, give & pray in secret - God will reward you in the open. The seeds you sow in private bear their fruit in public. Our greatest battles and victories will be won in the secret place.
2. Identify Worry as a Sin
Be anxious for nothing – don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. Worry is not your friend, but it pretends to be.
3. Get a Bigger Picture of God
A lot of worry is birthed out of an inaccurate perception of God. If we think God is loving, magnificent, abundant, an awesome Father – then peace is easy. If our perspective is that God is a small provider – that’s when worry begins.
4. Realize the Reality of the Spiritual Realm
Prayer requires an understanding of the spirit realm. We must first deal with things in the spirit realm. If not, we are continually cleaning up cobwebs but never killing the spider.
5. Pray Through to Get Your Title Deed
Conviction is your title deed. Faith is a substance conceived in your spirit. Pray situations through until you acquire something in your spirit about the situation – when you’ve reached the place of peace.
6. Peace is A Spiritual Substance
The peace of God surpasses comprehension. It’s a different thing than figuring it out or solving a problem in your mind. Peace comes from your spirit – not your mind. Your spirit knows things your head doesn’t know yet!
7. Peace is a Sentry Guard
Make your decisions from a place of peace. Decisions birthed out of worry will get you in trouble.
Peace is a prominent theme throughout the Bible. Make it a prominent theme in your life and you will triumph over worry!
